Why Sell Online?

Selling online has become so popular nowadays. If you will ask me why, I can name a few reasons why...

My fascination for online selling emerged from my fondness of buying stuff online. With the many infinite choices and convenience of shopping at the comforts of your own home, I can't help but feel the excitement whenever I will received my online order. But mind you, I can say that I am a sensible buyer since I buy only the things I need. About 3 years ago, I got hooked on online buying, it ranged from clothes, accessories, bags, etc. In fact the couple shirt my husband and I used for our pre-wedding pictorial and even our wedding giveaway were online finds. With this fondness, a question came in mind "Why not try to sell online? Then came the idea of an online shop, but the next question is what to sell online? One tip is finding your audience's    niche, asking yourself what do you like best and what do you like to buy most of the time will determine what type of merchandise you will sell. It actually varies and may change from time to time, as for my case I am interested in baby stuff now as compared to clothes and accessories before.

The popularity of E-commerce business intensifies many great opportunities for a newbie in online trading. Take into consideration, a seller having the world wide web for his market, it provides a vast number of advantages most specially for a budding entrepreneur. It becomes easy for an aspiring seller to get his idea on what to sell online and target his market thru the trend that he sees online, which will then make it easier for him to penetrate that market. As compared to actual retail it will take a shorter time for a seller to market his products because of the exposure to global market thus, a faster return on his investment. With internet communication, it also provides better customer relationships. E-commerce does not end with selling, aside from direct sales, online retailers can also use the web to introduce new products and brands and offer after sales customer support.

Among the many reasons to sell online, just imagine having your shop accessible anytime, anywhere 24/7. For the benefit of online buyers, they will not need to wait for long queues just like in malls, they have the convenience of getting the best deals and the most competitive prices online. It is cost efficient saving on gas because you don't need to go the mall just to do shopping and time efficient as well since all is done is just a few clicks. Plus it is easier to recommend an item to friends since it is readily available to view.

There are a number of sites to help you out get started to sell online. All you have to do is maximize every potential resources and and use it to your own advantage and believe me there are endless possibilities for you to succeed.

I am participating in a blog campaign for Bucks2Blog for an e-commerce solution company, www.intuit.com and was compensated. However, the views and opinions are my own.

classic spaghetti

Every 6th of the month is my baby's month birthday and since her first month I have planned of having a cake for her. It is also a form of thanksgiving for every month that passes that Ceana is healthy. Aside from that whenever it permits me (it actually depends on Ceana's mood if I can cook) I would cook something to match the cake like pasta or pansit plus ice cream!(This is simply the reason why the pounds kept on piling!haha) But during times when there's really no choice and we rely on instant food a.k.a fastfood, there is our friendly Pizza Hut 'BOGO' pizza promo and Jollibee's Chickenjoy bucket.
For her 8th month (September 6th) I cooked for her this meaty spaghetti :

the MEATY spaghetti

My spaghetti recipe is very simple just like the normal recipe only I use a LOT of chopped onions, diced red bell peppers and the secret ingredient-Italian seasoning for that distinct "spaghetti sauce" taste. I also sometimes use different variations like replacing meat with tuna or squid thus making it marinara-like. It will all depend on your preference, all you need is a little imagination and zest for experiment and adventure.
And to match the spaghetti, I made toasted bread using white bread which is very easy, just slather butter on your bread, sprinkle with Italian seasoning (again) and then put  in the oven toaster. Voila!

toasted bread
And here are the highlights!
we're for Team Magnolia this month
Merrnel's Chocolate cake from UPLB,yummy!
So that's it! Will have to think again for my October recipe and of course to decide what cake to buy this time (a dilemma every month-so many to choose from but I always end up getting a chocolate cake hehe)...since that will be roughly a week from now.

happy 13th birthday Google

HAPPY 13TH BIRTHDAY GOOGLE!-another from Google Doodles

Due to Pedring's wrath,we might not have noticed that someone (?) or something (?) has celebrated its birthday     on September 27.

-taken from gma news online :
What better way for search giant Google to mark its 13th birthday than with one of its own Google Doodles? Visitors to Google's website on Tuesday saw a birthday cake with one of Google's earliest logos.
Some of the letters in "Google" wore a party hat and were "seated" at a table with a birthday cake and gifts and balloons. Clicking on the doodle will take a visitor to a search results page, with - what else? - Google as the top result. Google has had a tradition of doodles for its "birthday."

Google began in January 1996 as a research project by Larry Page and Sergey Brin when they were both PhD students at Stanford University in California. Page and Brin originally nicknamed their new search engine "BackRub." Eventually, they changed the name to Google, originating from a misspelling of the word "googol." the number one followed by 100 zeros.
In May 2011, unique visitors of Google surpassed one billion mark for the first time, an 8.4 percent increase from a year ago with 931 million unique visitors.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY *Google!

*Google is very dear to me, it is hubby's employer in the US,he works a depot technician in Building 44-the main building that houses the top ranks in the company.

mommy moments - techie tip

"When I was a kid, I didn't have a laptop, iPod, Blackberry, PS3 or iPad. I played outside with friends, bruised my knees, made up adventurous fantasies and played hide and seek. I ate what my mom made and Jollibee was a treat. I would think twice before I said "no" to my parents. Life wasn't hard, it was great and I survived. Kids these days are spoiled. Re-post this if you appreciate the way you were raised. I think we were happier kids. :) Kids these days lost something... Appreciation"

Does this seem familiar to you? It is a wall post/status update that circulated in Facebook not so long ago, and perhaps one of the few posts that I can really relate to most especially the first part which pertains to gadgets.     I am part of the generation they called the "baby boomers", I was born during the last years of the 70's (there goes my age!hehe) I still remember how I wished for a Game N' Watch ( this now evolved into a Nintendo DSi, I think) as a "pasalubong" from uncles working in Saudi, but of course I never got it! I also remember how my Mom limits my time watching television to the point of shutting down the fuse of our entire house and telling  me, "It's brown out!"

Those were the days! Looking back sometimes I cannot comprehend the way we were brought up back then, deprived not of the basic need but of the extra needs like toys, gadgets and other recreational materials. We just resorted to make believe toys and games like "bahay-bahayan" or paper dolls to replace Barbie just to name a few.

But I don't have any remorse over the lack of material things to play with, because if not, I wouldn't have resorted to books as my companion and I wouldn't have loved reading. Thus, my childhood is still happy, with fun-filled memories, of sun-kissed days  with my cousins and playmates smelling of sweat.

Children nowadays are very fortunate with getting almost all the latest toys and gadgets. Parents who have experienced the "deprivation" in their childhood before have the tendency to provide and shower their children now with the things they have not experienced and/or acquired before. As a new parent, I cannot blame those parents because what we all want is to give our kids the best things possible. I know it's too early to tell, I really don't know yet since my daughter is just 8 1/2months old, I may also turn into a spoiler sometime soon, but we (my husband and I) have managed to provide her with what's right and enough, not too much and I planned it to be that way.

I have nothing against parents who provide modern and advanced toys and gadgets to their kids but maybe we need to limit their use and still expose our kids to other forms of recreation. We should still bring them to the outdoors-park,zoos, museums, etc. rather than just letting them confined to their computer games or the internet.  I still believe in the power of technology and we used still expose our kids to the internet and other techie things but with maximum supervision.

Nonetheless,we should still introduce them to reading and books, playing board and fun games and the likes so as to minimize television watching . As parents, we should also set examples, that is by minimizing our television and internet time and spending more time interacting with our kids.

Everything in excess is not good, so I should say it should be in moderation. Childhood comes only once and let our children enjoy it or better yet enjoy it with them!

excellent vacation ideas

Needed a vacation?

Well who wants to have a vacation? I think everyone does. We all want to feel relaxed and de-stressed from our daily routines.

*photo from  psychologytoday.com
Every year when my husband would go on his annual vacation I usually have my plans already laid out.
The minute he was approved with his leave, I would go ahead and check accomodations to wherever we want or planned to go.
The last getaway we had was some kind of a second honeymoon. It was at the summer capital of the Philippines, Baguio City. The city is very special for us.
It is where we "first" met and spent our first entire week together way back 2002, where we had our honeymoon in 2009 and it was quite memorable this time since
from this vacation, our little angel was conceived in 2010. I know that this place will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Planning our vacation is not difficult for me, since my husband likes the laid back type of vacation : no plans, no scheduled activities.
We just want everything to be spontaneous, impromptu. It is easier because we as both adults can manage to adjust to whatever conditions we will encounter during the vacation. I know that it's going to be different now with the baby, future vacations and getaways needed to be more planned and well executed since a third individual is involved.

To get more out of our vacation planning process, we need some inputs for vacation ideas, thanks to excellent vacation ideas website by providing some great tips. You can actually get a FREE E-Book where you will learn the secrets in choosing a family vacation that everyone will love and enjoy.

This awesome site also shares some great tips on things to consider in planning a vacation that everyone in the family will enjoy. It provides some healthy questions a planner needs to answer in order to get the best suitable getaway for the family. From these tips, I learned that the key in determining a perfect vacation for the family is the type of activity that the family wants to do.

Along with that, here are some things to consider as well:

-Are you looking for an active vacation? A relaxing vacation? A mix of
both?
-Is this a budget vacation? Or your Dream vacation you have saved
for?
-What time of year will you travel?
-What types of attractions is the family interested in? History?
Architecture? Theme Parks?
-What destinations will both the adults and the kids enjoy?

party planning checklist

Sometimes planning a party can be a little bit frustrating and stressful. There are so many things to prepare for and sometimes, with a little time. I can say that one of the few things to have a successful party or event is to be prepared in advance and most of all it pays to be organized to be able to overlook all the things needed in order to plan a perfect party or event.

My daughter's first birthday will be coming in less than 4 months from now. Since I am a stay at home mom, the preparation for this milestone will be added on top of my other mommy duties. As mentioned, proper organization and preparing ahead of time is an advantage.

I have started laying out my plans for my daughter's party. So far, so good. And of course this is with the help of a very efficient Party Planning Checklist

This Party Planning Checklist is very effective? Why? First, it is very detailed, starting from the Menu Plan, you can enumerate the types of food and recipe to serve starting with appetizers down to the dessert.
There's also a portion where you can put the schedule when you will start the preparation.

Aside from that, a Grocery List is also provided where you can list down all the needed ingredients that you can bring to supermarket trip to do the grocery.

One of the highlights of this Party Planning Checklist is the checklist for the arrangement of tables, chairs, beverage coolers, garbage bags and/or recycle bins. It gives the planner a heads up on how to arrange the layout of the event venue and where to put the necessary but sometimes neglected must-haves of a party or event.

I can give this Party Planning Checklist a thumbs up for providing an organized draft of a party or event. I can say that I will really be using this checklist to plan for my daughter's party in order to keep everything organized and well executed as planned.

You can check out this Party Planning Checklist by visiting this SITE. Aside from checklists the site also features other additional planning help like choosing different themes, games, recipes, costumes, party favors and a whole lot more in terms of party ideas. Go ahead and check out this LINK for more information.

hairless Ceana

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Pause muna for contest blogs, let's get more personal this time...

taken Sept 6, 2011-her 8th month birthday
I was thinking if I will post my daughter's pictures here in my blog. Actually I have mentioned and discussed her and my husband in my other blog which I chose to be more personal. For some reasons, I was just contemplating if in some ways I will be violating her privacy in doing so.

However, I have read and followed some blogs which features their children and I said " Why not?di naman ako artista?"hahaha
So there you go... and in fact it is really a mom's joy to share to the world her daughter...

this is me when I was almost the same age

Well my (now 8month-old) daughter Ceana is still hairless. Well not REALLY bald but she has thin hair.

It may be due to genes, because both my husband and I were hairless when we were babies.

But many say that eventually(when?) her hair will grow, so no fears, no worries for me.

As much as I wanted to buy her clips and accessories, I became limited to headbands. I am doing this because for the times that she is not wearing one she was mistaken to be a boy even if she's wearing a dress already!

I don't feel bad, but it's natural to sometimes feel awkward to get questions like "boy or girl?" or "girl sya?" even if she's wearing pink or red!(eyes rolling!)

To my consolation, a highschool batchmate who's based in Canada whom I get to interact with on Facebook also share the same experiences with her daughter. And so I think, it is not really the culture but 'how really the way things are'. So be it.

Bunny Baby, her Dad's favorite

Through time I got used to the comments and I'm not bothered anymore (actually I was never bothered, I was just surprised). So here now I just wanted to share my favorites-headpieces of Ceana (a.k.a. her headbands).

Ceana and her bandanna with long curly hair

I call her Baby Girl Swee'Pea, (Popeye's original Swee'Pea's a male)...
