"Lemonade Day was inspired by the lessons local entrepreneur and philanthropist Michael Holthouse taught his young daughter and her friend when they set-up a lemonade stand. Instead of giving his daughter money to buy a turtle, Lissa got creative and asked her father if she could open a lemonade stand. Mr. Holthouse encouraged her to set goals and go for it. Who knew that what started as an innocent question from his then 10-year-old daughter, Lissa, wanting a pet turtle, would turn into a life changing opportunity for hundreds of thousands of children across Houston and the country!Lissa and a friend set up a lemonade stand, and learned a ton along the way, but so did Michael! He realized that there were important lessons in mentoring and business that he was able to share with his daughter that day. That one day sitting in the street corner with his daughter at her lemonade stand inspired what is now known as Lemonade Day. It is day of educating and empowering kids to have a dream and pursue it and showing them how, actually giving them the tools to do it!Lemonade Day is a free, fun, experiential learning program that teaches youth how to start, own and operate their own business – a lemonade stand. It began in Houston, Texas in 2007. Since then it has grown from 2,700 kids to 120,000 kids in 31 cities across America and Canada in 2011. The yearly momentum for Lemonade Day continues to build and by 2013 the program aspires to be in 100 cities with one million registered youth."
Personal Review: Heather from Full Price? Never! had the pleasure of reviewing some TROPICAL TRADITIONS products. Here are her thoughts: "I've always loved coconut, but I'd only really ever experienced it in desserts {sad but true}. Who knew that there were so many products that could be made out of coconuts... and that they would be good, really good. We immediately made a bunny rabbit cake and used the coconut chips as the fur. How could we not? Then I sat down and watched Tropical Traditions YouTube channel to get some inspiration. Did you know they have video's of their popular coconut recipe's using their products {don't watch this hungry, they look so good}. Since I was still learning about how to use everything I watched the video that showed 100's of ways to use coconut oil {you can see a list here too}. I really was interested in the Organic Virgin Coconut Teeth Cleaners. I'm very sensitive to the taste of toothpaste... it's my least favorite thing to do so I was thrilled to use Tropical Traditions! The taste was very mild and left my teeth feeling clean and my breath feeling fresh! My next project will be to make brownies using the Organic Coconut Flour with the recipe on the package. Yum! Tropical Traditions get's two thumbs up from me!"
"I have had the great opportunity to review some hand made soaps from Angela's Crafts. I just LOVE natural, home made soaps! They arrived in this beautiful purple and gold sheer fabric bag. Each bar of soap was wrapped in green tissue paper, with a label on the front. I was unsure what scents she was sending me. When I opened each little gift (they felt like little presents!), I found out that Angela had read on my blog that I love Patchouli, and to my surprise, she sent me 2 different Patchouli scents - regular Patchouli and Lavender Patchouli, and Sandalwood. It was love at first smell. ♥I can't tell you how much we love the Patchouli scent in our home. We absolutely love it. The problem is, it seems it's hard to find products in this scent, for some reason. So we were very happy to have some Patchouli soap in the house again. And to be honest with you, I don't think I could even tell you which scent we loved more. The Lavender Patchouli was a combination I had never smelled before and it was heavenly! And the Sandalwood, wow... they just all smelled so good!!But, what good is soap if they don't work, right? Well let me tell you, that is not an issue with soap from Angela's Crafts. Her soaps lather up very nicely, they left us feeling very fresh and clean, and left NO residue (which is a pet peeve of mine). I hate it when soap leaves your skin feeling like there's a film on it. This soap was WONDERFUL. And did I mention how wonderful they smelled? I couldn't stop smelling it on my boyfriend. We'd be sitting on the couch and I'd reach over and just sniff him, LOL. He says he wants this in the house all the time! But, if you don't like Patchouli, don't worry, Angela makes LOTS of other scented soaps. And she doesn't just make soaps, either. She makes bath bombs, jewelry and yarn crafted items!

Willa's secret plan seems all too simple.
Take from the rich kids at valley prep and give to the poor ones.
Yet Willa's turn as Robin Hood at her new high school is anything but. Bilking her "friends"—known to everyone as the Glitterati—without them suspecting a thing is far from easy. Learning how to break into lockers and Beemers is as hard as she'd thought it would be. Delivering care packages to the scholarship girls, who are bullied just for being different, is more fun than she'd expected.
The complication Willa didn't expect, though, is Aidan Murphy, VP's most notorious ace-degenerate. His mere existence is distracting Willa from what matters most to her—evening the social playing field between the haves and have-nots. There's no time for flirting, especially with conceited trust-funders like Aidan. But when the cops start investigating the string of thefts at Valley Prep and the Glitterati begin to seek revenge, could Aidan wind up being the person that Willa trusts most?

This is what Bargain Hound has to say:
"I have had the opportunity to review a Rubbermaid Hidden Recycler! I love the design of this cool gadget. It is large enough to hold all of our recyclables, but compact enough to hide under our kitchen sink! We used to have an ugly, out of place plastic container for our recyclables (and sometimes stuffed them in plastic bags), but this is so much nicer! No one has too look at our ugly recyclables anymore. In fact, this hidden recycler is actually very nice looking, and I wouldn't mind it if people could see it. But, it's designed to be hidden and it does a great job. You just throw your recyclables in it, and when it gets full, just lift the plastic handle and it slides off the door, and you can empty it into your larger recycle bin outside, in the garage, or wherever you store them. Then it just slides right back into place on the door. And although it's compact, it holds quite a bit. I am very impressed with this little recycler! And Rubbermaid makes the best products. When it says Rubbermaid, you know it's going to be made well!"
